UAB Softball to Host 2014 Blazer Bash

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Head coach Marla Townsend and the UAB softball team invites fans to attend the 2014 Blazer Bash/Meet the Team Banquet on Friday, Sept. 26, to Saturday, Sept. 27.
The weekend’s events are kicked off with the Meet the Team Banquet on Friday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. The dinner will be located inside Bartow Arena. Price for the banquet is $25 per person, which includes dinner and a t-shirt.
Saturday, Sept. 27, features the annual Green & Gold Alumni Game between the 2014-15 UAB Softball team and the athletes who built the Blazer Softball program at the UAB Softball Field at 10 a.m. Following the alumni game, all are encouraged to join the softball team cheer on the Blazer football team as UAB hosts FIU at Legion Field at 2:30 p.m.
The UAB softball program is coming off its fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, becoming just one of 23 teams in the country to accomplish the feat. The Blazers played the nation’s second-toughest non-conference schedule and 10th-toughest schedule overall, earning a program-best RPI ranking of No. 26 during last year’s campaign.
