MIDLAND, Texas – UAB women’s tennis player Catherine Ragon will play in the semifinals of Flight 2 on Sunday following a strong day on Saturday at the Midland Intercollegiate Tournament at the Midland Racquet Club.
Following a rainout on Friday, Saturday’s round was reduced to a rain-shortened format with one set in singles and doubles.
Ragon picked up two wins on the day as she downed Mackenna Maddox from Nebraska, 8-1, before defeating Steph Nguyen from Rice, 8-0. Those two victories place Ragon in the semifinals of Flight 2 on Sunday afternoon.
Ragon was not the lone victor on the day as Rachel Daniell and Elaine Simon each picked up victories on Saturday.
