UAB To Host Atlanta Silverbacks In Exhibition

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men’s soccer team will host the Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League (NASL) in an exhibition match on Friday, March 21 at West Campus Field, as announced on Monday.
Atlanta plays in the second tier of professional soccer in the United States. In 2013, the Silverbacks advanced to the NASL Soccer Bowl, the league’s annual championship match. American soccer great Eric Wynalda is the current head coach of the Atlanta Silverbacks.
The Birmingham Hammers will serve as the host for the spring exhibition match. Funds raised at the game will go to the Birmingham Hammers’ efforts to bring professional soccer to the city of Birmingham.
