CHARLESTON, S.C. --- UAB men's basketball looks to rebound from a tough double-overtime loss to No. 19 New Mexico when the Blazers face Nebraska at TD Arena in the second round of the 2013 Charleston Classic.
Opening tip between UAB (3-1) and Nebraska (3-1) is scheduled for 12 p.m. EST and will be aired on ESPN3. Fans can also listen to the game locally on 100.5 FM.

- On Thursday, No. 19 New Mexico scored nine points, including a buzzer beater by Kendall Williams, in the final 34 seconds of regulation to defeat the Blazers, 97-94, in double overtime.

Blazers Fall In Double OT
» UAB led by six with 55 seconds remaining against No. 19 New Mexico on Thursday. The Lobos scored nine points in the final 34 seconds, including a buzzer-beater from Kendall Williams, to take the game into two overtimes and eventually a 97-94 win for the Lobos.
» Thursday's game represented the first double-overtime game for the Blazers since a 74-65 loss to UTEP on Jan. 30, 2010.
Frazier Has Standout Performance
» UAB junior guard Chad Frazier scored 34 points, hit 9-of-9 at the free-throw line and 11-of-19 from the field against New Mexico on Thursday.
» Frazier's 34 points represented the most for a Blazer since Aaron Johnson scored 39 vs. East Carolina on March 10, 2011.
Rucker Rebounds
» UAB senior forward Rod Rucker's 20 rebounds against New Mexico on Thursday represented the third highest single-game total in Blazer basketball history. Former Blazer Cameron Moore recorded 24 against George Washington Dec. 28, 2011 to hold the highest mark in Blazer history.
» Rucker added 18 points to his 20 boards, giving the Elberton, Ga., native his second double-double of the season and his 13th in just two seasons at UAB.
C.J. Washington Named C-USA Co-Player of the Week
» UAB junior forward C.J. Washington was named the Conference USA Co-Player of the Week this past week. Washington scored two-straight double-doubles (18 pts., 10 rebs. vs. Rutgers; 25 pts., 10 rebs vs. Troy) last week to help the Blazers to a 3-0 start.
» The transfer from Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College, shot 66 percent (19-of-29) from the field in two last week and has led UAB in scoring in all three games this season.
UAB Sets Free Throw Record
» In its game against Troy on Nov. 14, UAB set a Blazer single-game free throw percentage (min. 10 attempts) record by going 16-of-17 (94.1 percent) from the free-throw line. UAB has gone over 90 percent on a minimum of 10 attempts now seven times in school history. UAB broke the previous single-game record of 93.8 percent vs. USF on Dec. 27, 2006.
Blazers Own The Boards
» UAB recorded 54 rebounds against Rutgers, 53 vs. Troy and 62 vs. New Mexico in its last three games. Thursday's performance represents the fifth time in school history that UAB has had 60-plus rebounds. The school record is 69, which came against South Alabama on Dec. 20, 1994.
» The Blazers have doubled up two opponents this season the boards. UAB doubled Rutgers' rebound total of 27 as the Blazers had just as many offensive boards (22) as the Scarlet Knights had defensively. Against Troy, UAB outrebounded the Trojans, 53-24, including a 39-16 advantage on the defensive glass.
» UAB currently holds a +16.5 average rebounding margin edge over its opponents and has outrebounded the opposition, 216-150.
Scouting Nebraska
» Nebraska comes into Friday's game after falling to UMass, 96-90, Thursday in the opening round of the 2013 Charleston Classic. The Cornhuskers had five players score in double figures against UMass, led by Terran Pettaway's 28 points.
» Under second-year head coach Tim Miles, Nebraska is 3-1 this season with wins against Florida Gulf Coast, Western Illinois and South Carolina State. Nebraska has won three games by an average of 21.7 points. The Cornhuskers spread the point production with five players averaging in double figures. Pettaway leads the team with 15.3 ppg.
