Montgomery Country Club Invitational Results
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - UAB men's golfer Paul Dunne will be entering his sophomore season with a lot of confidence after capturing the 94th Montgomery Country Club Invitational on Sunday. The Dublin, Ireland native carded a 72-hole score of five-under par 205 (65-69-71), defeating Doug Letson and Alex Mahlik by one stroke.
Dunne was one of several UAB golfers who competed in the three day event. Junior Thomas Sutton placed fifth with a one-under par 209 (68-71-70). Junior Sam Love (70-70-73) and freshman Will Cannon (70-69-74) tied for 12th overall at three-over par 213, whie Hunter Hawkins was in 15th with a 214 (72-71-71). Junior Conner Pratt placed 20th with a 217 (74-69-74) to round out the Blazers who finished among the top-20.
Sophomore Michael Ulmer (220), junior Wilson McDonald (221) and redshirt freshman Ryan Davies (226) also competed in the event.
Dunne and his teammates will open the 2012 on Sept. 9-11 when they compete at the Bake Invitational at The Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.
