Mandy Lowman Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mandy Lowman, a senior on the Blazers softball team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
The mathematics major earned a 3.00 GPA in the fall semester and owns a 3.75 cumulative GPA. Taylor is also a three-time Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection.
The Huntsville, Ala. native, was named to the 2010 and 2011 C-USA All-Academic Teams and was selected to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Softball Second Team.
Last week, Lowman led the Blazers to a 3-2 record. She posted a .429 batting average with six hits, four runs, two doubles, one homer and four RBI.
Lowman and the Blazers open conference play this weekend with a doubleheader against Memphis on Saturday at the UAB Softball Field. First pitch is schedule for 1 p.m.
