Men's Golf Improves On Day 2 In Hawaii

PRINCEVILLE, Hawaii--The UAB men's golf team improved on its first round score by 19 strokes with a second round total of 290 on Tuesday at the Warrior Wave Intercollegiate presented by St. Regis Princeville Resort. After two rounds, UAB has carded a total of 23-over 599 (309-290).
Sophomore Paul Dunne finished the day in a multi-way tie for 21st place after carding a 71 (-1) in the second round for a total of 146 (+2). Junior Sam Love finished the day with a two-round total of five-over 149 for a tie for 40th place.
Also for the Blazers, junior Thomas Sutton carded an even 72 to finish the day in a tie for 57th place and a two-round total of 152 (+8). Senior Hunter Hawkins finished a stroke behind after carding a 73 (+1) in the second round for a total of 153 (+9)
In the team race, Baylor took the lead after carding a 280 in the second round, finishing with a two-round total of nine-under 567. UC Irvine moved into second place after carding 284 strokes for a total of six-under 570. East Tennessee State and North Carolina State sit in a tie for third place with total scores of 571 (-5).
Individually, North Carolina State's Albin Choi holds the lead with a two-round total of 137 (-7). Teammate Mitch Sutton, Baylor's M. Bjerch-Andresen, and Xavier's Korey Ward finished the day in a tie for second place with identical finishes of five-over 139.
The third and final round of the Warrior Wave Invitational will begin teeing off on Wednesday at 8 a.m. HT.
