BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- One of the state's top junior golfers, Hoover's Taylor McCullum, has signed a national letter-of-intent to attend UAB, according to Blazers' head coach Alan Kaufman.

McCullum, who attends Hoover High School, qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championships that was held last August at Cherry Hills CC in Cherry Hills, Colo.

McCullum, who is the state of Alabama's No. 2-ranked prep golfer, won four different Southeastern Junior championships last summer.

He also helped lead Hoover to a runner-up finish at the 2012 AHSAA Class 6A State Golf Championships last spring. McCullum has finished among the top 12 individuals at the AHSAA 6A Championships the past three years.
