Jordan Swing Selected As Student Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Jordan Swing, a redshirt sophomore guard for the Blazer men's basketball team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Swing, who sat out the 2010-11 season due to NCAA transfer rules, comes into Tuesday's contest at Florida ranked second on the team in scoring (10.7 ppg) and minutes played (28.5), while also averaging 3.9 rebounds per contest in 12 games this season. The Birmingham, Ala. native has reached double figures in each of his last five games entering Tuesday's contest. Over that span, he is averaging 13.0 points and 5.2 rebounds a contest.
In the classroom, Swing earned a 3.80 GPA as a communications management major during the fall semester. He was one of 10 UAB men's basketball players to achieve a 3.0 last semester and helped the team to a 3.15 overall team GPA.
Swing and the men's basketball team will next play at Florida on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT).
