Eight UAB Men's Hoops Games Set To Be Televised

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB men's basketball team will make at least eight television appearances during the 2011-12 campagin, according to an announcement by Conference USA officials. In all, the Blazers will make five national television appearances, with three games set to be televised regionally.
Highlighting the Blazers' television package will be a pair of games against arch rival Memphis. The home game against Memphis on Jan. 7 will be televised on CBS College Sports at a time to be determined, while the contest at Memphis can be seen on CSS at 7 p.m. CT.
Three UAB games will be televised on Fox Sports Net which will include the non-conference road game at Florida on Jan. 3 (6 p.m. CT), the road contest at Southern Miss on Jan. 14 (1 p.m. CT) and the home mach up against UCF on Jan. 21 (1 p.m. CT). In addition to the the home game against the Tigers, the other CBS College Sports television appearance will come at Bartow Arena on Feb. 29 when the Blazers host Tulsa at 7 p.m. CT.
Other CSS games include the Jan. 25 contest at Marshall (6 p.m. CT) and vs. Houston on Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. CT.
Any additional television contests and game times will be announced at a later date.
UAB is set to open the 2011-12 season with an exhibition contest against Auburn-Montgomery on Nov. 12. The regular-season begins with a home game against Creighton on Nov. 16.
