New UAB Bowling Team To Hold Walk-On Tryouts

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The newly formed UAB women's bowling program will hold walk-on tryouts from Sept. 6-9 at Vestavia Bowl in Birmingham.

Interested participants should contact UAB bowling coach Michelle Crews no later than Aug. 30 for information regarding the tryout process and details for the event.

UAB announced last fall it would be starting a varsity bowling program, and Crews was hired in June as the team's first coach. The Blazers will compete for the first time in the upcoming 2011-12 season, which begins in October.
