BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Registration is open for UAB head softball coach Marla Townsend’s two winter hitting clinics.
The first clinic will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10, while the second will be held on Monday, Jan. 16. The clinics will be from 9 a.m. to Noon for ages 6-13, and from 1 to 4 p.m. for ages 14-18. Both clinics will take place at the Birmingham Vipers’ hitting facility in Pelham, Ala.
Participants will be coached in the basic fundamentals of hitting, as well as advanced hitting skills for those with sound fundamentals. Hitters will see a video analysis of their hitting skills. Drills will be taught to improve bat control, bat speed, hand-eye coordination and power. Mental toughness will also be addressed.
