UAB Set For USTA/ITA Southern Regional

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's tennis team will compete this weekend in the USTA/ITA Southern Regional hosted by Samford at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion.
Paula Alvarez, Isabel Fernandez and Rachel Daniell are playing in the main singles draw, while Menanteau Moolman will compete in the B singles draw. The doubles competition will feature two UAB duos as Fernandez pairs with Caroline Faught and Moolman teams with Daniell.
The rest of the regional field includes players from Alabama, Auburn, Jacksonville State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, LSU, Mississippi State, Northwestern State, Ole Miss, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy and Tulane.
The tournament gets underway Friday at 8:30 a.m. and continues through the championship matches on Monday. Winners of both the main singles and doubles draws will advance to the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.
