BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- With the start of the 2010 college football season right around the corner, a citywide pep rally for Birmingham will be held this Friday and the UAB Blazers will be part of the festivities.

The pep rally is scheduled for Friday at Linn Park and is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

Head coach Neil Callaway and the entire Blazers football team will be in attendance, along with the UAB band and cheerleaders.

UAB 2010 football posters and schedule cards will be available to fans in attendance.

The Blazers will open the new season next Thursday, Sept. 2 when they play host to Florida Atlantic at Legion Field. Gametime is set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
