Blazers' Season-Opening Football Game Moved To Thursday, Sept. 2

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB's 2010 season-opening football game against Florida Atlantic has been moved to Thursday, Sept. 2.
The contest was changed from its original date of Saturday, Sept. 4.
The Blazers/Owls' contest will kick off at Legion Field at 7:00 p.m. CT.
UAB and FAU have met each of the past two seasons. The Blazers defeated the Owls, 56-29, last November in Birmingham. Florida Atlantic won the first meeting between the schools, taking a 49-34 decision at Boca Raton, Fla. early in the 2008 season.
UAB now has three non-Saturday games on the 2010 schedule, two at home and one on the road. The Blazers will play at UCF in an ESPN nationally-televised game on Wednesday, Oct. 6. UAB will play host to East Carolina on Thursday, Nov. 11 in a contest that will be aired nationally on CBS College Sports.
