Hello Blazer Fans!!!
On Tuesday, March 9, we hosted our second home game of the year against Jacksonville State. We didn't start off the game so well, and were down 5-0 at the top of the fourth. But as always, just as we've done in the past, we never gave up. We rallied back the next three innings, winning it in the bottom of the sixth, 13-5. Not for one second did I ever think we had already lost the game because I know how our team is and our mindset. We never accept defeat and give up. Those few runs were nothing to us because we had been in that situation before, knowing that we were just half way through the game and we still had a chance.
We opened up conference play against defending conference champions, Tulsa, this past weekend. I felt we put on a pretty good performance overall during the series. We didn't come out on top in the series, but we did put ourselves in a position where we had a chance. Our performance against them just shows us that we have a chance at being one of the top teams in conference this season.
This weekend we travel to Marshall and play a three-game series with them as well. The girls are really looking forward to traveling up there and winning the series. As always, we are building and learning from this past weekend and carrying it over into our next games. Thanks Blazer fans!!!!
