Men's Soccer Begins 2010 Spring Slate Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB head coach Mike Getman announced the Blazers' 2010 men's soccer spring schedule. This year's spring slate features five games at West Campus Field.
"I am very excited about this schedule of games," Getman said. "This will be our most difficult spring schedule in a long time. We open this weekend with two difficult games. I am eager to see how we do."
The Blazers will open the spring slate this Saturday with a triple header of soccer action at West Campus FIeld. UAB will play two games on the afternoon, when it takes on Belmont at 1 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. matchup against instate rival Montevallo. Belmont will play Montevallo at 3:30 p.m. All contests are open to the public.
On Wednesday, March 10, UAB will face a tough test when it travels to Jackson, Miss. to take on the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer. The contest will start at 10 a.m.
UAB will return to West Campus Field on Sunday, March 28, when the Blazers welcome Mercer for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
April will feature three contests, beginning with a road game at Furman on April 7 at 6 p.m. UAB will then close the spring season with back-to-back contests at West Campus Field. The Blazers will welcome C-USA rival Memphis to town on Saturday, April 10 (2 p.m.), followed by the annual Alumni Game on April 17 (3 p.m.)
Admission to each of the UAB home games during the spring season will be free to the general public.
