Two-Boys Gumede Invited to DC United Training Camp

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB men's soccer player Two-Boys Gumede has been invited by Major League Soccer's D.C. United to participate in its preseason training camp, which takes place at RFK Stadium. Gumede joins former Blazers and current D.C. United star Dejan Jakovic at the camp, which began on Feb. 1, 2010.
Gumede left UAB as a two-time NSCAA first-team All-Region performer and a four-time all-conference honoree. This past season, the Durban, South Africa native was selected as the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year.
Gumede finished the 2009 campaign with four goals, a team-high five assists and 13 points. The two-time C-USA Player of the Week finished his UAB career with 18 assists, which ranks eighth in school history, to go along with 11 career goals.
