Women's Tennis Completes Doubles Action At Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The UAB women's tennis team took the court Friday for the first time this fall and posted a 4-4 record in doubles play at the Stony Brook Classic.
"I think it's a good start to our fall season," UAB head coach Krissy Hall said. "We are taking a lot of things away from today, and we know what we need to work on with our doubles in the future."
Both of UAB's doubles teams at the event managed 2-2 records on Friday. The team of Jenny Cape and Evelien Strijker earned wins over Long Island and Marist, while the team of Ceylan Engin and Giorgia Romeo picked up wins over Army and Marist.
The Stony Brook Classic continues Saturday with singles action. The Blazers are slated for rounds of singles at 10:45 a.m. and 4 p.m.
