Krzan Named UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Holly Krzan, a senior shortstop on the UAB softball team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Krzan was a second-team All-Conference USA selection in 2007, in addition to being named to the C-USA All-Academic Team and the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Krzan, a native of West Richland, Wash., is batting a team-best .372 with one home run and six RBI this season to help the Blazers get out to an 8-5 start.
She is a three-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and was a first-team All-C-USA pick in 2006.
In 2007, she was a National Strength & Conditioning All-American.
She is a special education major at UAB.
The Blazers will next take the field on Friday when they take on Sacramento State at 9:00 a.m. CT in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
