UAB Softball Opens Home Schedule Tuesday Verses Kennesaw State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB softball team opens its 2008 home schedule with a doubleheader against Kennesaw State beginning at 3 p.m. at George Ward Park.
The Blazers (7-4) head into the match up with the Owls (7-1) are earning victories over Bethune-Cookman and Jacksonville at the Seminole Classic.
Andrea Rogers, Leigh Walker and Holly Krzan were all named to the all-tournament team for their performancein the four games. Rogers was 4-of-10 from the plate, with a double and two runs scored. Walker finished the weekend 3-of-7, while walking five times and scoring four runs. Krzan was 6-of-12 at the plate, including a 3-for-3 effort in the Blazers' 2-0 victory over Bethune-Cookman.
The event is free to the public.
UAB is 5-3 all-time in home openers and 91-83 at George Ward Park.
