Stanley And Krzan Earn C-USA All-Conference Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB senior outfielder Lindsay Stanley garnered first-team All-Conference USA honors, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Junior shortstop Holly Krzan was tabbed second-team all-conference and also earned a spot on the C-USA All-Academic Team.
Both Stanley and Krzan have received all-conference honors three times. Each earned a spot on the first team in 2006, while Stanley made the second team in 2005 and Krzan was honored on the all-freshman team in 2004.
Stanley had a record-breaking senior season as the team's leadoff hitter. The Pinson, Ala. native collected a team-leading 75 hits and 31 stolen bases. In addition to setting a new single-season record with 75 base-knocks, Stanley also broke the school's career records for hits (203) and stolen bases (100). She batted a record-breaking .359 during the 2007 season and she leaves UAB as the all-time leader in career batting average (.346).
Krzan also had an outstanding 2007 season in the Green and Gold, finishing second on the team in batting (.309), hits (55), homeruns (5) and RBI (33). West Richland, Wash. native set a new single-season record with 17 doubles, while her career slugging percentage (.478) and on-base percentage (.396) both rank second in UAB history.
Not only did Krzan perform on the field, but her achievements in the classroom also earned her all-academic honors. She has maintained a 3.37 GPA as a special education major, has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and made the Dean's List in the fall of 2006. Earlier this year, the righty was also named UAB's 2007 National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American Athlete of the Year.
