BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -The UAB softball team will play its final regular season games on Thursday, hosting the Chattanooga Mocs for a doubleheader at George Ward Park. The two teams will square off at 4:00 p.m. for the first game with the second immediately following.
UAB is coming off a rough weekend at Memphis, as the Tigers swept a three-game Conference USA series against the Blazers.
Chattanooga currently has a five-game winning streak, including a three-game sweep of Southern Conference foe Furman last weekend.
The two teams are already familiar with each other, having split a doubleheader in Chattanooga, Tenn. earlier this season. UAB shutout the Mocs, 3-0, in the first game but dropped the second, 3-2, in 10 innings.
This marks the fourth consecutive season the two teams have faced off and the first season they have met twice in the same season.
Chattanooga hasn't played in Birmingham since 2005, when they won two games in the Magic City.
UAB leads the overall series, 5-3, and is 20-18 against teams from Tennessee.
Through their eight meetings, the Blazers have outscored the Mocs, 34-27.
