BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- On Wednesday members of the UAB softball team visited the downtown Birmingham Ronald McDonald House to help prepare meals for families.
The Blazers spent their afternoon preparing full meals for families who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House and also spent time visiting with the children and their families.
First opened in 1974, Ronald McDonald Houses allow parents of ill children who are being treated in nearby hospitals to stay for extended periods of time for a reduced cost.
UAB will open its season on Feb. 7 against Mississippi Valley State.
