BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB will host a course for the National Fastpitch Coaches College teaching team offense and strategy Nov. 16-18 at Bartow Arena.
The NFCC courses are a nation-wide program intending to give coaches from all levels of softball a chance to interact with other coaches and instructor from around the country and share their ideas and philosophies.
"These development courses are a wonderful way for coaches to continue their softball education," UAB head coach Marla Townsend said. "This course offers a chance for coaches at every level to gain a deeper understanding of offense and how to operate and manage a ball club."
Some topics that will be covered during the three-day course include: pieces of the offensive puzzle and analyzing plays, offensive strategy, putting together a batting order and game plan, mental offense tips, reading defenses, shaping offensive philosophy, and new drills for developing a productive team offense.
Instructors for the three-day course include Mississippi State head coach Jay Miller, University of Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy, and Shannon Drysdale, NFCC Director and head coach of the New England Riptide.
Registration for the clinic cost $225 for NFCA members and $250 for non-NFCA members. Registration can be done online by visiting nfca.org/college.
