Diamond Girls Serve as Valuable Members of UAB Baseball Family

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- The UAB baseball team has announced its 36 Diamond Girls for the 2007 season, which begins Feb. 16 at Young Memorial Field when the Blazers take on
A very visible fixture at UAB home games, the Diamond Girls help with promotional efforts across campus and assist the UAB marketing department with in-game promotions. "The Diamond Girls have done a great job accepting our ideas and they have been eager to help out and have done so with smiles on their faces," said UAB assistant coach Perry Roth. "We believe that the Diamond Girls will help make game days at Young Memorial Field a fun place to be for students and fans." The Diamond Girls have been involved with the team's `Bowling Night', `100-Inning Wiffleball Game' and will be attending the `Meet the Team Banquet'. Behind the scenes, the girls assist the staff with mailing and other administrative office tasks. "We appreciate all of the efforts of the Diamond Girls and we are looking forward to working with them this season," Roth said. "We know they will help give us a home field advantage for all our games at Young Memorial Field."
