BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB women's tennis team travels to Mississippi State to face the Lady Bulldogs Thursday at 3:00 p.m. The Blazers are looking to remain undefeated and run their record to 3-0 on the season, while Mississippi State is looking for its first victory of the year, as the Lady Bulldogs are currently 0-4.
UAB is coming off a 6-1 win at Chattanooga on Saturday. The Blazers won at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions as well as five of the six singles positions. UAB's Annemieke Elsholz and Samrin Tanzeem are each 3-0 on the season.
Mississippi State will look for its first match in the win column after dropping the first four matches of the season. Last weekend, the Lady Bulldogs dropped decisions to No. 55 Rice and No. 65 SMU on the road.
The meeting with Mississippi State is the 22nd between the two schools. The Lady Bulldogs hold a decisive 18-3 advantage in the series. Last season State blanked the Blazers 7-0 at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
