UAB Doubles Pairing Finishes Second at ITA Regional

TUSACLUSA, Ala. - Nischa Maier-Knapp and Gulsah Esen of the UAB women's tennis team advanced all the way to the finals of the "B" doubles draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) South Regional on Sunday to post a second place finish.
The tandem won its semifinal match on Sunday, 8-5, against Shelley Godwin and Bianca Svensson of Alabama. In the finals, it was the number two seeds, Miranda Foley and Carolin Walter of Florida State, who ended their run by claiming an 8-6 triumph.
The Blazers will next be in action when they compete in the Southern Miss Tournament, Nov. 3-5
