BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB women's tennis team hosts Conference USA foe Cincinnati in its final match of the regular season on Saturday at 11 p.m. at Brook Highland Racquet Club. The Blazers look to continue their hot streak, as UAB has won seven of its last nine matches.
UAB is coming off a 5-2 victory over Middle Tennessee State on Sunday afternoon. The Blazers started the match by winning the doubles point and went on to tally four singles victories. Sophomore Samrin Tanzeem is the Blazers' most consistent singles player this season. Tanzeem is currently 13-3 in dual-match play, with all of her matches at the No. 4 position, and 4-0 in Conference USA action.
Cincinnati dropped two Conference USA matches last weekend, falling at DePaul, 6-1, before dropping a hard-fought, 4-3, decision at Marquette. This season the Bearcats are 4-11 overall and 0-2 in Conference USA action. Jill Klauck leads Cincinnati with an 8-4 dual-match record in 2005. She is 4-3 at the No. 2 position and 4-1 when playing No. 3 singles.
