News and Notes:
- Blazers are off to their first 3-0 Conference USA start since the 1998 season
- UAB's current nine-game winning streak is longest single-season mark since opening 2003 season with 13 consecutive victories
- Blazers did not record 15th victory of 2004 season until April 17
- UAB starting pitchers combined to go 4-0 last week with a combined 1.44 ERA in 25.0 innings pitched. Jeff Brown led the way with two victories while Adam Price and Randy Mills collected one apiece
- Freshmen Clint Toomey and Phillip Bell are making an impact on the UAB lineup- they rank first and second, respectively, in batting average. Toomey leads the squad with a .443 clip while Bell is batting .385
