BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB women's basketball team will recognize senior Katie Billue in its final home game of the 2004-05 season Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., as it hosts USF. Billue is the only senior on UAB's squad. The Blazers play their final two games against the Bulls, as the teams face each other on Saturday, Feb. 26, in Tampa, Fla., in the regular-season finale for both teams.
The Blazers are coming off a crucial 61-57 win at Tulane on Sunday. UAB sophomore Domaneice Moore hit a pair of free throws with four seconds left to help the Blazers seal the victory. Moore recorded her second-consecutive double-double, with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the contest. Freshman LaKitha Murray tallied the first double-double of her UAB career with 13 points and 11 rebounds, both career highs. Carmen Guzman currently leads the Blazers, averaging 13.8 points per contest.
USF is currently on a three-game win streak. The Bulls are 17-9 overall and 7-5 in conference. They have already clinched a spot in the Conference USA tournament, participating for the second-consecutive year. Jessica Dickson leads the Bulls with 16.6 points a game, while Ezria Parsons averages 8.7 rebounds. The Bulls average 66.1 points a contest and hit 39.1 percent of their shots, while holding opponents to an average 56.2 points a game.
UAB holds a 23-7 advantage in the all-time series with the Bulls, however USF has won the last two contests. The Bulls took both meetings during the 2003-04 season, winning in Tampa, 72-51, before taking a 70-61 victory in Birmingham.
