Women's Basketball To Face Marquette On Sunday

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. --- The UAB women's basketball team will face Marquette on Sunday at 2 p.m., in the Al McGuire Center. The Blazers are looking for their third-consecutive victory over the Golden Eagles.
UAB (5-15, 2-5) is coming off an 85-52 loss at 17th-ranked DePaul on Friday evening. Crystal McFadden tallied 26 points in 29 minutes of action, but it wasn't enough. McFadden hit 8-of-14 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. Lauren Brittingham came off the bench to add 10 for the Blazers. The Blue Demons had five players score in double digits and were led by Caprice Smith's 19 points.
Marquette improved to 13-6 overall and 4-2 in C-USA action with a 67-41 win over USF on Friday. Marquette tied a season high for field goal shooting percentage in the game. The Golden Eagles are led by Christina Quaye's 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds a contest. As a team, Marquette averages 67.9 points per game on 44.4 percent shooting.
UAB and Marquette are tied at nine wins each in the all-time series. The Blazers won a 65-63 overtime contest in Birmingham last season. The last time UAB lost in Milwaukee was during the 1999-00 season.
