UAB Travels To Chicago To Face Nationally-Ranked DePaul

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB women's basketball team heads to Chicago to take on DePaul on Friday at 7 p.m., in the DePaul Athletic Center. The Blazers are coming off an 85-68 win over Saint Louis on Sunday.
UAB defeated the Billikens behind the strength of Domaneice Moore's 24 points and 12 boards in the contest. Additionally, the Blazers had five players in double figures, a season high for UAB. In the first half, UAB tallied three separate double-digit runs and took a 43-21 lead into the locker room at the break. The Blazers hit an impressive 50.9 percent from the floor, including 53.1 percent in the second half. Additionally, UAB was 26-of-32 from the charity stripe for 81.3 percent.
DePaul has won four-consecutive games, including two last weekend on the road. The Blue Demons are currently ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press poll and No. 18 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll. The Blue Demons defeated Tulane, 80-50, before beating Southern Miss, 90-63, to improve to 15-3 overall and 4-1 in C-USA. DePaul is undefeated at home, with a 9-0 record this season. Five Blue Demons are averaging in double digits, with Khara Smith leading the way at 18.9 points and 11.3 rebounds a contest.
DePaul has won the last four contests with UAB. The Blue Demons lead the all-time series, 14-5. The Blazers have not defeated DePaul since Jan. 23, 2000 and have not won in Chicago since the 1993-94 season.
