Blazers To Host Seventh-Ranked Tulane

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB will host seventh-ranked Tulane in a three-game Conference USA baseball series Friday-Sunday at Young Memorial Field. Friday, the teams meet at 7 p.m., Saturday's game begins at 2 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday's games will be broadcast live via the world wide web on the Blazers' official athletics website, www.uabsports.com. For those who are not Yahoo! subscribers, a monthly subscription can be purchased for $4.95 per month and a season-long subscription may be purchased for $14.95. Saturday will feature UAB's annual Blazer Day. The UAB football team will scrimmage at 12:30 p.m. at West Campus Field before the baseball team takes the field across the street at 2 p.m. against Tulane. Admission to both events Saturday is free.
UAB (14-18, 2-9 Conference USA) is coming off a 5-4 loss to in-state foe Alabama last Wednesday at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
Tulane (25-10, 9-3 C-USA) lost a 6-4 decision to the University of New Orleans last Tuesday in the Popeyes Cup at Zephyr Field in New Orleans in its last outing. The Green Wave is ranked seventh in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll, 10th in the latest Baseball America Poll, 15th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll and 16th in Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches' Poll. Tulane is currently third in the C-USA standings.
Tickets to Friday and Sunday's games are $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 3-12, children 2 and under are admitted free and UAB students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
