Men's Soccer Ties Clemson, 2-2

CLEMSON, S.C. ----- The UAB men's soccer team tied Clemson, 2-2, here Saturday in its second spring game of the season. Clemson, an NCAA Tournament team from a year ago, scored a goal in the 90th minute for the end result.
"I thought this was a good experience for our players," UAB head coach Mike Getman said. "To be able to play an NCAA Tournament team and get experience against a team like Clemson is very helpful to our players' development."
After a goal by Clemson, the Blazers knotted the score at 1-1 in the 32nd minute. Rogerio Oliveira found Lukasz Kwapisz who was able to put in the game-tying goal. In the second half, Jason McLaughlin gave the Blazers a 2-1 advantage when he received a pass from Sandy Gbandi and put the ball past the Clemson goalkeeper in the 55th minute.
The Blazers were trying to put the finishing touches on the win when Clemson scored the game-tying goal in the 90th minute.
With the tie, UAB remains unbeaten during the spring season (1-0-1).
UAB will next face Montevallo on Saturday, March 13th on West Campus Field.
