UAB Softball Travels To Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ----- The UAB softball team is gearing up to play the Louisville Cardinals in a three-game series Tuesday and Wednesday. The teams will play a doubleheader Tuesday starting at 2:00 p.m. and will conclude the series with a single game Wednesday, also at 2:00 p.m.
UAB enters this week's Conference USA action coming off a three-game series against the Saint Louis Billikens. UAB (17-18, 2-7 C-USA) dropped two of three games to the Billikens this past weekend.
As a team, the Blazers are batting .244 with a .359 slugging percentage and a .350 on base percentage. UAB has recorded 222 hits this season with 47 doubles, 5 triples and 16 home runs.
Sara Christophel leads the Blazers with a .304 batting average. Christophel has seven doubles, one triple, one home run and four stolen bases. Teammate Kris Lara is second on the team with a .296 batting average, including seven doubles and one home run.
The Cardinals hold a 9-1 series lead over the Blazers. In their last meetings last April, UAB lost two of three games in the series.
Louisville (14-13, 6-2 C-USA) enters this week's action against UAB coming off a three-game weekend series against Southern Miss.
As a team, Louisville is batting .279 with 44 doubles, five triples, 13 home runs and have stranded 159 runners on base this season. The Cardinals are 15-of-19 in stolen base attempts.
Shannon Nord leads Louisville with a .338 batting average. In 24 games, Nord has 22 hits, two doubles and three triples. Nord has also added five stolen bases for Louisville.
