UAB Softball To Host In-Town Rival Samford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.---The UAB softball team is set to host in-town rival Samford on Tuesday, March 18 at George Ward Park starting at 6:00 p.m.
The Blazers and the Bulldogs have already faced each other twice this season at the Magic City Classic when UAB split with Samford, losing the first game, 1-0, and winning the second in nine innings, 11-8.
UAB (15-12, 1-2 C-USA) enters Tuesday's game after wrapping up its first Conference USA series against No. 21 South Florida. UAB lost two out of three games against the Bulls and hope to get back on track against Samford (14-6).
Samford enters Tuesday's game against UAB having won seven games in a row. Most recently the Bulldogs swept its way to the 2003 Samford Invitational title defeating Eastern Illinois, 3-2, and Alabama A&M, 8-2.
Tuesday's game between UAB and Samford has been designated as $0.25 hot dog day. Fans will be able to purchase hot dogs while supplies last.
