UAB Tennis Looks Forward To This Week's Competition

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB men's and women's tennis teams continue to battle tough competition this week, as the men's team heads to Montgomery for the Blue/Gray Nationals and the women's team hosts Birmingham-Southern and Samford.
UAB women's tennis team (5-4, 2-1) hosts Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Brook Highland Racquet Club. The two teams squared off earlier in the season, with the Blazers winning, 5-2. UAB will then have the weekend off as they prepare to battle Alabama and Georgia State on March 22 and 23. The Blazers and Bulldogs will face each other on Saturday, March 15, at 11:30 a.m. as their match originally scheduled for March 6, was cancelled due to rain.
The UAB men's tennis team will be traveling again this week, as it heads to Montgomery, Ala., for the Blue/Gray Nationals held March 13-16 at the Lagoon Park Tennis Center. Fifteen other teams will be competing in the tournament, including Boise State, Fresno State, Harvard, Middle Tennessee State, Rice, Tulsa, Virginia Commonwealth, South Alabama, Brown, Furman, Indiana State, Notre Dame, William and Mary, Tulane and North Carolina.
