UAB Softball To Face Auburn

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--- UAB softball (8-6) heads to Auburn to take on the Tigers after coming off weekend play at the Compass Bank Invitational hosted by Baylor University.
UAB enters Tuesday's game after going 2-3 defeating Tulsa, 2-1 and Louisiana Tech, 8-1 in Waco, Texas over the weekend. Two Blazers, pitcher Kerri Foster and shortstop Candice Hithe were named to the Compass Bank Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Tuesday's game marks the fifth time that UAB will face in-state rival Auburn. The Tigers have defeated the Blazers three out of four games. In their last meeting on March 9, 2001, the Blazers fell to the Tigers 6-2.
Auburn enters the game against UAB with an even 11-11 record. In 22 games, the Tigers have produced 133 hits (22 doubles), 88 runs and 15 homeruns.
The Blazers hit the road for the third weekend in a row February 28-March 2, to take part in the Red Desert Classic hosted by the University of Utah. The Blazers are scheduled to play Southern Utah, Utah, BYU, Utah State and Oregon.
