UAB's women's tennis team won for the third time in the last four matches to even its record at 8-8 with a 4-2 win over Georgia State in Birmingham, Friday afternoon.
The Blazers won all three of the doubles matches for the doubles point and won three singles matches.
UAB has gone 8-4 after starting the season with four straight defeats.
Monika Schmid upped her spring record to 11-5 at the number one singles by defeating Klara Miklihova 6-4, 6-0. Femke DeBoer won at number four singles over Rebecca Mitchell 7-5, 7-5. Nadia Dellarciprete won by default at number six as the Panthers had just five players.
Georgia State's Jovana Kriskapa defeated the Blazers Sjouke Liem 6-3, 7-5 at number three and GSU also won at number five with Karine Etienne beating Yvone Ernst 7-5, 6-0.
In doubles UAB swept for the point, winning at number three by default. Schmid and DeBoer won at number one 8-6 over Miklihova and Kriskapa. Immele and Liem beat Sorensen and Mitchell at number two 8-4.
The Blazers play at Middle Tennessee, Saturday at 1 p.m. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
