Women's Tennis to Host Jacksonville State and Arkansas State

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB women's tennis team will return to home action this week as they play host to Jacksonville State Wednesday and Arkansas State Saturday. Both matches are slated for 1:30 p.m. and will be played at the Brook Highland Racquet Club.
UAB holds a 2-5 record on the season with a 2-1 record in Conference USA. The Blazers are coming off a weekend road trip that saw the Blazers go 1-1, defeating Southern Miss 5-0, but falling to Houston 4-1.
Senior Monika Schmid is having an outstanding season with a 6-1 singles record and a perfect 5-0 doubles record with partner Femke deBoer. Schmid's first loss of the season came against Houston's 18th-ranked Sarah Borwell. Sophomore Nadia Dellarciprete is 3-1 on the season in the No. 6 spot.
Jacksonville State is 6-2 on the season, coming off a weekend split with Chattanooga and Morehead State. After losing to Chattanooga, 6-1, the Gamecocks bounced back and shutout Morehead State, 7-0.
Arkansas State sits at 4-4 on the season. They will be in town matching up against Birmingham-Southern Friday and UAB Saturday.
