Atlanta, Ga.-UAB swept a doubleheader from Georgia State Thursday afternoon winning the first game 6-4 and taking the second 3-1.

With UAB down 4-3 in the top of seventh inning and two outs, senior first baseman Kai Paul (Birmingham, Ala.) hit a three-run home run to give the Blazers the lead.
After relieving starting pitcher Kelli Thompson (Decatur, Ala.) midway through the sixth, junior Kerri Foster (McCalla, Ala.) picked up the victory.
In game two, UAB (3-1) scored its first run in the first inning. With two outs, sophomore second baseman Beth Mullins (Fairhope, Ala.) hit a double to right field to bring in Aimee Vaughn (New Orleans, La.).
In the second inning, the Blazers added a run with a solo home run from freshman outfielder Kris Lara (Elk Grove, Calif.), which marked her first career home run.
With two outs in the seventh, Lara hit another shot over the left field fence to put the Blazers up 3-1.
The winning pitcher for UAB was Foster, who went three innings, allowing one run off of five hits and striking out three. Megan Stephenson (Washington, Ill.) picked up the save for the Blazers, only allowing two hits and striking out three.
