UAB Softball To Host Final Fall Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB Blazer softball team will participate in its final fall tournament this Saturday at George Ward Park beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The first two games, played at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., will showcase the Blazer freshmen, designated as the UAB Green team for the weekend. The upperclassmen on the team will be called the UAB White team for the weekend.
"We are looking forward to wrapping up our fall season with a very successful tournament," said head coach Marla Townsend. "Every player will have the opportunity to establish herself as a key player in this program after this weekend."
UAB will be hosting Springhill College and Martin Methodist College. The game schedule is listed below.

The Blazers have had a demanding fall schedule in hopes to start the spring season off right. "As a coaching staff we made the decision to continue a strenuous strength and conditioning program during our fall season," Townsend said.
"Although, our athletes are extremely tired, they have a great sense of pride and can truly see the enormous strides they have made this past month. The conditioning program in which the athletes are involved in will really pay off next spring with our rigorous tournament and conference schedule."
