Cross Country Competes In Auburn Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - The UAB cross country team continued its season running in the Auburn Invitational early Saturday morning. The Blazers finished the event with 773 points.
Senior Carla Kelly (Auburn, Ala.) led the Blazer squad clocking in at 19:53.40 in the 5000-meter run.
Other Blazer finishers include freshman Heather Burdett (Burlington, Ontario, Canada), finishing with a time of 20:37.26, junior Karen Werner (Kennesaw, Ga.), clocking in at 20:56.11, freshman Kacie Remeto (Bel Air, MD), with a 21:33.74 time and junior Donna Pucke (Cincinnati, Ohio) , who finished at 21:56.42.
The Blazers compete again on Sept. 29 as they host the Pre-District 9 Invite at Cooper Green Park in Birmingham. For information on this event, please call the UAB Sports Information office at (205) 934-0722.
