Women's Cross Country Compete in C-USA Championships

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The UAB women's cross country team finished its season Saturday at the 2001 Conference USA Cross Country Championships at Overton's Lake-Kristi.
Senior Carla Kelly was the top finisher for the Blazers today, placing 66th with a time of 22:56.3. Freshman Heather Burdett and senior Karen Werner were the next two finishers for the Blazers, with times of 24:31.4 and 24:58.2, respectively.
The women`s conference champion was senior Gladys Keitany of TCU, who took first place with a time of 19:44. Senior Tara Quinn of South Florida took second, and sophomore Brianna Dahm of Marquette took third. Marquette won the women`s competition with 46 points.
