UAB Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The UAB women's track and field team earned NCAA Division I Women's Track All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
All-Academic Team honors are awarded to those teams with a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
"What a tremendous honor it is to be named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team," said head coach Kurt Thomas. "With all the disappointment of a canceled, season this is some amazingly positive news. Our young women took care of their work as students and had the highest team GPA in program history. We have a very diverse team with 40+ athletes, so this accomplishment means that everyone contributed. We are so proud of them."
The Blazers recorded a team GPA of 3.625 for the 2019-20 academic year, the best GPA in program history and among one of the highest to earn USTFCCCA honors.
Earlier this spring, 20 UAB track student-athletes were named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and 10 were C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal earners.
