No. 23 Kentucky rallied for a 2-1 win over No. 19 UAB in an exhibition match in the Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne Preseason Tournament in Fort Wayne, Ind.
All three goals were scored in a 10-minute stretch in the second half. Kentucky got its first goal in the 51st minute of the match. Nelson Mata scored seven minutes later to tie the match at one. Kentucky scored the game-winning goal just three minutes after Mata?s goal.
The Blazers outshot the Wildcats 11-7. Kentucky?s goalkeepers combined for five saves, while the Blazers recorded one save.
UAB tied No. 4 Indiana, Saturday night to go 0-1-1 in the exhibition tournament.
The Blazers begin the regular season, Friday night, Aug. 31 at Coastal Carolina.
