PRINCETON, N.J. - The 46th-ranked UAB women's tennis team collected its 16th win of the season, improving their perfect record to 16-0, defeating Princeton 6-1 in Princeton, N.J. Sunday afternoon.
In Doubles action, the Blazers won all three matches to take the doubles point. For UAB, Mirela Vladulescu and Monika Schmid, ranked 40th in the nation, defeated Kavitha Krishnamurthy and Gailor Large 8-2 at no.1 doubles. With the the win, the doubles team improved their record to 11-2 in dual match play and 19-3 overall.
In singles play, the Blazers won five of six matches to take the win over the Tigers. At no.1 singles, UAB's Vladulescu defeated Large 6-4, 6-0. At no.2 singles, UAB's Schmid defeated Kristi Watson 6-4, 6-3.
