Vladulescu Takes Singles Title At Stewart Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.... Sixty-eighth-ranked Mirela Vladulescu of the UAB women's tennis team upset no. T-51 Sarah Riske of Vanderbilt 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 to the win the Flight One Singles Championship at the June Stewart Invitational on the campus of Vanderbilt University.

Vladulescu upset 16th-ranked Julie Ditty of Vanderbilt 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 Saturday to advance to the finals. Vladulescu owns a perfect 7-0 singles record on the year.
