Andy Poole is in his second year at UAB and was promoted to Assistant Director of Communications in June 2025. Poole oversees the day-to-day public relations for the Blazers' baseball, cross country, and track & field teams, as well as serving as the secondary contact for the football team.
Poole was the Athletic Communications Associate for the 2024-25 athletic year where he began his work with UAB Baseball, Cross Country, Track & Field, and Football. Prior to his time serving as the Athletic Communications Associate, Poole served as the intern for the Athletic Communications office in the summer of 2023, where he assisted with multiple Blazers sports teams.
Poole is a 2024 graduate of Johnson University (TN), where he played baseball for the Royals under head coach Dave Serrano. Along with being a member of the baseball team, Poole also served as a Gameday Operations assistant, where he was the Public Address Announcer for Johnson's men's basketball, women's basketball, and volleyball teams during their 2023-24 campaigns.
At Johnson, Poole double-majored in Sport and Fitness Leadership, concentrating in Sport Administration, and Bible/Theology. He is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Sports Communication from Texas Tech University.
Poole is a native of Trussville, Alabama.
